国际悠人

flyer:Hello Mountain brother. You are a real friend of China but not 国际悠人。I like your program very much, so many humour and laugh around it. You are a chinese learner, but I wouldn’t talk with you in chinese. It is a good chance for me to close an English learner. I prefer to be a 国际悠人 in your country. Thanks! (2012/04/30)

Learning Mandarin

Branden:I’ve always wanted to study East Asian languages and Mandarin is one of them. I’ll be going to a Canadian university for Chinese studies and I know you studied the same thing. I also know that your knowledge of Mandarin is fantastic and I hope to be just as fluent. What tips would you offer for getting fluent in Mandarin? Is four years of university-level mandarin enough?
Dashan: I did four years at the University of Toronto, then went to China. That gave me a pretty good foundation, able to read simple texts and sort of…maybe…get through a newspaper, certainly more than enough to get around and engage in serious conversation. It’s amazing what you can learn in only a few weeks or months, but count on many years if you want to really become fluent. You’ve got to love it.

Events in Toronto

Redouane Khalid:Dear Dashan!
I remember about 9 years ago, in the Morocco I discovered you on CCTV4 while I was browsing the channels on the sat. dish, I was so impressed that I decided to start learning Chinese! I moved to Toronto since then and discovered that you held an event recently in Toronto, I wish I was there. Is there a way to be informed of your activities? I would love to meet you one day. You are my idol!
Dashan: I don’t do a lot of public events in Canada and keep a fairly low profile. When I do have some kind of public event I will post the news on my site as well as the various micro-blogs that are linked from here. Thanks for your support!

East China Normal University

Daniel Kratz:Two years ago I fell in love with a Chinese girl. Now I am in Shanghai, learning Chinese at Hua dong shi fan da xue.I remember watching pp-stream in Europe, and seeing a westerner speaking perfect Chinese. That was the first time I heard of DaShan and also the beginning of an inspiration to be like him and accept another culture and learn the language.

He inspired me to learn Chinese.
