This is the main thing I've been working on in recent years, polishing and touring my own one-man show.
The last full performance of "Dashan Live" was at the University of Edmonton's Myer Horowitz Theatre in June of 2018, where I was awarded an honorary Doctor of Letters. That was a nice way to wind up "Phase I", and since that show I've taken a break to recharge and rework, developing new material. Phase II will launch in the not to distant future.
Chinese audiences all know the character "Dashan" from TV; through this live show I share some of the behind-the-scene stories from my career and 30 years of working between East & West. "Dashan Live" has been performed across China as well as in Canada, the US and Europe.
The focus of the show is the word "live" -- this is an attempt to move beyond television and the Internet and engage directly with audiences in a theatre setting. So apart from a few clips here and there, no you won't find the entire program on the Internet. But here are two clips that are online.
YouTube is not accessible from China, and Tencent video may run slowly outside of China. Which of these works best for you?
